Λlpines Live

Last night i was lucky enough to go and see Λlpines play at the Tooting Tram & Social. The show was great, and it was absolutely rammed, i couldn't even get to the bar. Here's a bit of live footage i got side of stage for their song 'Drive'.

XXXY - You Always Start It

From the sounds of this, 2011 is gonna be a big year for xxxy.

George Fitzgerald – We Bilateral

'We Bilateral' is a brand new, unreleased track that was uploaded yesterday onto his soundcloud. Although the samples used are pretty cheesy, it's a massive tune.

JJ - Let Them

JJ are a Swedish Electro pop duo consisting of Joakim Benon and Elin Kastlander. JJ currently have two full lengths under their belt, one of which received a Best New Music Award from Pitchfork. There seems to be a lot of bands coming up at the moment that are of a similar formula, girl/boy pop electro act, which unfortunately means they have a lot of competition and i'm not entirely sure whether they really stand out; but for the meantime, have a listen to their single 'Let them'.

Dutch Uncles - Face In

Face In by Dutch Uncles

'Face In' is the latest single from Dutch Uncles which is going to be released on the 28th of February through the Indie label, Memphis Industries. The band released another version of the song back in 2008 which in my opinion, is a lot bigger. Face In isn't actually going to make the final cut for their latest LP, but it gives their new fans a taste of one of their good, older songs.
The full length album is expected for release around April/May time.

This is also the b-side, 'Jinx'.

Jinx by Dutch Uncles

Gil Scott-Heron & Jamie xx - I'll Take Care of You

I don't think you could ever put two more different people together for a collaboration than Gil Scott-Heron & Jamie xx, and this is result of that.

Little Comets - Darling Alistair

'Darling Alistair' is the song i would like to share with you from the Little Comets' Debut Album, 'In Search Of Elusive Comets.' The full-length album was streamed yesterday on the bands facebook. My first impression of the album, was that there were very few songs that hadn't been released as singles already and It turned out that this particular song grabbed my attention more than any of them.

Elephant - Shipwrecked

I stumbled across 'Elephant' when i saw that they are going to be supporting 'Alpines' at the Tooting Tram & Social w/ Disclosure on the 24th of January.

Out of the 3 tracks from their recently released EP (http://elephantshop.bandcamp.com/ released on the 4th of January 2011) this one 'Shipwrecked' was the stand out for me.

Colo - Salad Days

Fresh from their release on Take Records (w/ Jack Dixon & James Fox etc.) Colo treat us to a brand new track which is surely just a glimpse of what's to come...

Alpines - Drive

'Drive' is the latest demo that Alpines have released onto their soundcloud. They are currently working on their debut album, which is set to be released through Polydor.
All i want to say is that this excites me a lot more than anything The xx released on their record, enough said.

Everything Everything - Photoshop Handsome & The Official Remixes

Everything Everything - Photoshop Handsome & The Official Remixes

Everything Everything are about to re-release their song 'Photoshop Handsome' from Man Alive that they previously released back in 2009 as a single. The music video for the song is quite an interesting concept. They shot loads of green screen footage of themselves; sent the clips off to various photoshop geniuses, and then put it back together piece by piece.
Here is the making of the video:

If i'm completely honest, it's not one of my favourites from the album by any means (I prefer songs like Final Form). But anyway, what i really wanted to share with you was the official Remixes by 'II Figures' & 'Disclosure' which are both posted below, you decide which is the better.
